As we left Clarens in 2005, we made a promise that we would, on our return to England, raise funds for a new roof for Mojelafo Farm School. We also made up our minds that we would return the following year. This is what happened next....

As a direct result of feeding back information, the wheels were set in motion to raise funds.  A friend of ours in Christ Church, Downend, offered to ask for sponsorship when he ran The Endurance Marathon in Devon.  Other donations came in from various sources and just after Christmas, there was enough to give the go ahead for the roof for the Mojelafo Farm School.  You can imagine the joy that this news brought to the children and staff at the school who had been so used to having damp, dingy classrooms to work in, one of which had only half a ceiling.

Here is quick reminder of last year’s classrooms.

The PCC of our Church made a decision to include the Children of Clarens in the Mission giving of the Church. This was a tremendous piece of news as it means that for the next few years, we will have some direct giving to further the work in Clarens.

Another couple of friends became very interested in the project and decided that they would like to get on board so four tickets were duly booked for October 2006 alongside the two Head Teachers from Swindon.
