Fundraising 2005

£3,500 (including Gift Aid) was raised through individual giving and fund raising lunches together with funds raised by the Swindon schools (see links).

This money funded:-

• 6 orphans through school for a year
• Teacher training for a year
• Fabric for the local Women's Enterprise Project
• Running repairs for Dihlabeng School and educational materials
• The labour of two local men to build an extension to the orphan shelter
• Much needed books for the Farm School
• Part assistance for a new roof for the Mojelafo Farm School

Fund raising 2006

Apart from the corporate giving from Christchurch, members of the congregation have supported:

• Sponsorship of marathon runners
• Car boot sales and sales of home made cakes
• Sponsored run by children in the Sunday School groups

The two local church supported primary schools in Downend conducted harvest collections (sets of underwear) from the 400 children.  These were taken to Clarens in October.

There has also been a flow of individual donations and gifts, including a surplus laptop computer which was able to join the first one we were able to send to Mojelafo Farm School in February, along with the completion of a new roof, and (in July) new ceiling and re-plastered walls.
